Digging up a road - which is brand new

A spokesman for Yorkshire Water said: “We had to carry out emergency repair to a burst main which took place on August 25.

“It has been repaired now. The work was complete by 1.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday and we are currently in the process of filling in the hole that was caused when we dug a hole to make the repairs.

“We are on site making sure everything is back to how it was.

“It was not planned work, it was very spur of the moment emergency work which was carried out as swiftly as possible.”
