Little girl "critical" after hit and run

A GIRL suffered serious head injuries in a hit and run accident last night.

The seven-year-old youngster was taken to Dewsbury District Hospital in a “critical” condition after the accident in Healey Lane, Batley.

Her condition later improved but she is still in a serious condition.

Police said she was struck by a red Honda Civic car at 8.37pm. The car drove off without stopping.

Police later traced the vehicle but are still hunting the driver.
