Ex-superbike star signs his new book

FORMER Superbike star Jamie Whitham was on home ground at the weekend.

The Huddersfield race ace, who retired after a career spanning 18 years, was at Waterstones bookshop in the Kingsgate Centre, signing copies of his new autobiography.

The book, James Whitham: A Bit Of A Do, chronicles the ups and downs of his racing career – including several spectacular crashes.

But it also features his brave fight against Hodgkin’s disease, a form of cancer.

Remarkably, after several doses of chemotherapy, he got back on his racing bike.
