TWO men have been charged with the murder of an Elland man.
And both also face a charge of attempted murder, as a second man fights for life in hospital.
Mohammed Muftah, 39, of Elland, and Kayshn Farooq, 28, of Elland, have been charged with murder, attempt murder and witness intimidation.
The dead man, believed to be new dad Billy Khan, died in Elland on Friday night.
His brother Yusuf was left seriously injured with stab wounds and is very ill in hospital, although his condition was said to be “improving”.
Today, flowers and tributes to the dead man piled up at the scene of the tragedy.
One tribute said: “We will always love you”. Another read: “You will be deeply missed”.
Daubed on a window in an empty house was the tribute: “Billy we miss you. RIP”.
A house in Langdale Street remained sealed off as did Poplar Court, a few yards away.
Police have spent the weekend trying to determine what caused the street attack which left Mr Khan, the father of a new baby, stabbed to death.
This morning they confirmed that two people have been charged.
The two accused men are expected to appear before Calderdale magistrates later today.
A 50-year-old man, who was also arrested, is in hospital under police guard.
