Inquest into 'copter crash that killed 4

AN inquest into the deaths of four local men killed in a helicopter crash will take place today.

All the victims died shortly after setting off in a Robinson R44 aircraft from Carnforth, Lancashire, en route to Lockerbie, Scotland, for a hunting trip last August.

Former Master of the Vale of Lune Hunt Peter Patrick, 68, of Arkholme, near Carnforth, was among those killed, along with his son, Andy, 37, of Askwith, near Otley, a keen pilot.

Mr Patrick senior had just started his retirement and had passed on the family business, Huddersfield-based Termrim Construction, to Andy.

The other two victims in the crash were Gary Priestley, 39, of Hipperholme, and Tim Newburn, 39, of Brighouse.

The inquest is being held in Kendal.
