Print firm wins Scots’ vote for elections

A HUDDERSFIELD firm has secured a huge print contract.

Adare, of Clayton West, has landed the job of producing and delivering election products to more than 750,000 voters on behalf of the Edinburgh, Lothian and Borders Councils.

It is a significant win for the firm’s democratic services team being the first involving postal voting and election products for Scottish councils.

The contract incorporates City of Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian, West Lothian and the Scottish Borders councils and covers ballot papers, postal voting packs and associated products related to election activity.

Adare will also provide postal voting packs for the UK parliamentary general election to be held by June 2010 under the remit.

Adare is quickly gaining a reputation for being the leading provider of secure election material, with a proven track record of delivering election products for many of the largest councils across the North of England.

Robert Whiteside, Chief Executive Officer at Adare, said: “The democratic services team has steadily been building its profile with councils in the North of England, understanding the sensitivities involved and their need for a risk averse solution when it comes to election packs.

“As our expertise grows our strategy has been to expand this specialist service into Scotland and who better to win our first democratic services contract with than the councils representing the country’s capital!”

The project will be managed and delivered entirely from Adare’s Park Mill critical customer communications centre.

The contract with Edinburgh, Lothian and Borders Councils provides the latest in a succession of wins for Adare’s democratic services team including Newcastle City Council, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and Bradford Metropolitan District Council.
