Mum’s anger at ‘unsafe crossing’
A council spokesman said heavy rain in August was to blame for the delay in completing the crossing.
He said: “There was a slight delay due to the bad weather. Weather permitting, the crossing will be completed today at the latest.”
The spokesman added that Kirklees had done its best to keep children safe yesterday.
He said: “We notified Salendine Nook High and had staff on site all day making sure traffic management was satisfactory and children were crossing safely.”
