Tiny kittens found dumped outside Kirklees nursery

SIX tiny kittens were found dumped in a field in Birstall.
RSPCA officials are trying to find new homes for all the tabby and white-coloured kittens, which inspectors believe are about six weeks old.
They were found by a member of the public on a playing field behind Fieldhead Junior Infant and Nursery School on Charlotte Close.
They were in a brown cardboard box hidden under a bush.
RSPCA inspector Emma Brook went there and found the kittens to be bright, lively and in good bodily condition.
None was wearing a collar and none had been microchipped.
Four of the kittens have been re-homed by the person who found them.
The other two are in the care of an RSPCA fosterer.
Insp Brook said: “It’s shocking that anyone could abandon any animal in this way, especially such young kittens.
“They were all in good physical condition, which suggests they may have belonged to someone.
“Because they were found together in a box it seems unlikely they found their own way there.
“It’s more probable they were deliberately abandoned.
“Had we not have been contacted so early the kittens could have come to all sorts of harm.
“We’re now hoping someone will come forward with vital information to help us discover what happened.’’
