TODAY we reveal the Huddersfield cellar which hid a terrible secret.

It was used to hide the body of murder victim Sarah Mournian for five months.

Kevin Newton, 40, murdered the Paddock prostitute and concealed her remains in the foundations of the rented house in Grisedale Avenue, Birkby.

The breakthrough came when police smashed through a wooden partition Newton had built and found the decomposed body of 33-year-old Miss Mournian.

Det Supt Andy Brennan said: “We gave a commitment to Sarah’s family that we would find Sarah and on February 26 this year we discovered her body at Newton’s address.

“Newton had gone to extreme lengths to conceal Sarah; she was beneath the foundations of his home. The access to the spot had been concealed by a false, partitioned wall.”
