Man attacked with bat outside rural grocers

A 58-YEAR-OLD man was attacked outside a Denby Dale grocery store.

The man suffered minor injuries when he was attacked by a man armed with a wooden bat.

The incident happened on Wakefield Road, Denby Dale, on Thursday, September 4 at 9pm.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward and help them catch the culprit.

The suspect is described as a Asian man who fled the scene and ran down Wakefield Road, past a Chinese restaurant and onto Norman Road where he joined a second man.
