Absent taxi drivers criticised for missing licence meeting

“But the only thing we discussed at that meeting was the date and time of the next meeting because there was no-one there to discuss anything else.

“This is not the first time this has happened. I’m really, really upset and disappointed.”

Clr Iredale’s comments come after the Kirklees Hackney Carriage Association criticised Kirklees for not doing more to crackdown on unlicensed taxis.

Clr Iredale said: “They’re quick to put across their view that we don’t listen.”

The association could not be reached for a comment.
