IT turned heads in the 1970s – and it’s still grabbing people’s attention today.
This cheeky iconic bedroom poster adorned countless walls 30 years ago – and now canny property renovators in Huddersfield are using it to lure buyers round the back of one of their houses.
For the four-bedroomed cottage on Manchester Road just out of Slaithwaite and heading towards Marsden has a great view from the rear.
James Garside, from Slaithwaite- based Garside Developments, said: "People see the house is on a main road and don’t realise what a great view it has from the rear. You can see right across the Colne Valley.
"That made me think and I remembered that poster from the 70s and wondered if it would lure people round the back.’’
The 40-year-old did some research on the internet and discovered the photo, called Tennis Girl, was taken by Midlands photographer Martin Elliott in September, 1976.
