‘I think they’ll try anything to get out of paying out’
VICTIMS of a terrifying armed robbery have been dealt a double blow by “heartless” insurers.
Leonie Blakeley and Mark Bove lost more than £1,200-worth of property when they were robbed at gunpoint by a five-man gang in their own home on Manchester Road, Linthwaite.
But insurance company UIA would only pay out half the claim – even though the couple were covered for £15,000-worth of household contents.
Miss Blakeley, 32, said: “I understand that they have a job to do, but this does seem pretty heartless.
“I have been paying into them for years and it’s such a small amount. I have a lot of bitterness towards insurance companies in general.
