Many questions unanswered on Post Office closures

CONCERNS over the closure of two Post Offices have been raised after questions from users were left unanswered.

Users of the Wooldale and Upper Holme Valley branch, between Holmbridge and Hinchliffe Mill, have been writing to the National Consultation Team to object to their planned closure.

But Jason McCartney is concerned that correspondence to the team is met with a stock reply, often not relating to the comments or questions posed.

The Conservative candidate for Colne Valley said: “I have been emailing the network consultation team trying to get some answers to some basic questions and I just keep getting the same automated response.

“I am really concerned that there are hundreds of letters with personal cases sitting in an office somewhere and not being read.

“The address to write to is the same for all the planned branch closures, so how many people are reading and taking the views of residents on board?”

Mr McCartney, who lives locally to the Holmbridge branch, is objecting against its closure and others in the constituency.
