RIVERS in Huddersfield could be transformed into cleaner, livelier places thanks to a new conservation trust.
Waterwise – a partnership between Kirklees Council, the Environment Agency, local businesses and organisations – was formed at Paddock Village Hall as an initiative by Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman.
The group, which includes Britvic soft drinks and Yorkshire Water and community groups hopes to secure cash and labour to manage the Colne and Holme rivers.
