Uniform approach
THREE schools have joined forces to provide education for children from the ages of five to 16 on one site.
The new Netherhall Learning campus at Rawthorpe is the first “through school” in Kirklees.
And every child at Rawthorpe St James Infant and Nursery, Rawthorpe Junior and Rawthorpe High School will now wear the same uniform throughout their time on the campus.
The schools have embarked on a trail-blazing initiative that puts them one step ahead of government plans.
In June, schools minister Lord Adonis, announced that the Government was looking for a significant rise in the number of ‘through schools’ providing continuous education from 5-16 and in Rawthorpe his plans are being made a reality.
