TV crew to make watery landmark a star in Griff's new BBC show

Alongside Fred Carter, a Standedge Tunnel guide, Griff Rhys Jones experienced ‘legging’ – lying on his back and pushing with his feet on the tunnel walls.

James Dean, visitor services manager, said: “ We are delighted to have Griff and his team at the tunnel.”

The new series featuring various rivers and waterways is expected to be shown on BBC 1 late next year.
