Red card for Huddersfield Town fans’ parking

SOCCER fans who park badly in Rawthorpe face being fined.
Police say that supporters going to support Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm Stadium are making life a misery for Rawthorpe residents.
They are parking at junctions, on verges, across driveways and flouting permit parking only signs, single and double yellow lines.
The bad parking also means that fire engines and buses can’t get through.
Sgt Paul Denton from Huddersfield traffic police said: “It has become a real problem and residents are fed up of it. It is also potentially putting lives at risk when emergency vehicles can’t get through.
“The problem happens during events at the stadium – predominantly the football – and we are warning people now that we will be handing out £30 fixed penalty fines to people who flout the parking rules.’’
Netherhall Learning Campus – formerly Rawthorpe High – provides parking on matchdays.
