Dinner dance for hospice

FUNDRAISERS held a dinner dance to help sick children.

The Friends of Martin House raised around £6,000 at Saturday’s event at the Sikh Leisure Centre in Springwood.

Dr Anil Aggarwal is secretary of the friends group, which helps the children’s hospice at Boston Spa, near Wetherby.

He said: “The dinner went very well, we had about 320 people there, which was an excellent attendance and we had very good entertainment, including an Elvis impersonator.”
