New leaders for local police teams

NEIGHBOURHOOD policing teams in Calderdale have a new command team.

Chief Insp Mark McManus is in charge of the neighbourhood policing teams in the district and a new line-up of inspectors has been unveiled.

Chief Insp McManus said: “Having worked in Calderdale most of my service I understand the different issues that affect all communities across the district.

“Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams will engage with local people and strive to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour.

“We have made significant progress over the past few years. Crime levels are falling year on year. We are listening to the public we serve and are making a difference every day.”

The inspectors in charge of different parts of the Calder Valley are Mohammed Nawaz, Derek Benn, Mark Strother, Derrick Oldham and Peter Smith.
