Tragic story of woman who came back from the dead

On the day before her mother died she had started drinking in the afternoon.
Sarah said: “She was slurring her speech and was all over the place.
“By 11.30pm she was lying on the floor and could hardly speak, she was very drunk.
“I lifted her up and put her into her bed, I retired to bed but I later heard the (safety) gate rattling at the top of the stairs.
“She unfastened it and I heard a banging noise, she’d fallen down the stairs and there was blood running from her nose and mouth.
“Paramedics arrived and she was taken to hospital in Dewsbury. Her brain was bruised and she was transferred to Leeds General Infirmary where she had emergency surgery, but she died.”
Mr Whittaker said that it had been Mrs Barnes’ wish to donate her organs after her death and her kidneys were successfully donated. He recorded a verdict of accidental death.
