Top 10 RE triumph is testament to studies

TWO Huddersfield students have come in the country’s top 10 in this year’s GCSE religious studies exam.

Sarah Elyoussfi and Laura Kaye, both former pupils of Salendine Nook High School, beat over 94,000 candidates to achieve 100% marks.

Lyn Davies, the school’s head of religious education, said: “The girls’ performance was tremendous and a reflection of their hard work.

“They are a credit to their families and the school.”

Jerry Jarvis, director of exam board Edexcel, said: “This is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the hard work students put into preparing for their exams.”
