Annual aquafit

The annual charity aquafit event at Scissett Baths, Health and Fitness Centre will take place again on Sunday, October 5, between 1.30 and 2.30pm. Last year the same event attracted more than 30 participants, and the hard work and fundraising through staff and customer initiatives raised £1,100 for Cancer Backup and Breast Cancer Research. The pool activities include deep water and shallow water aquafit sessions, with room for up to 40 and two instructors leading the sessions. Read

A part of Slaithwaite Philharmonic’s Summer Proms will be heard. Also featured is the Dundee Symphony Orchestra, performing Beethoven; the Kensington Chamber Orchestra (Bruch); and Birmingham Symphonic Winds (Rodrigo). The show goes out between 7pm and 9.15pm.
