The annual charity aquafit event at Scissett Baths, Health and Fitness Centre will take place again on Sunday, October 5, between 1.30 and 2.30pm. Last year the same event attracted more than 30 participants, and the hard work and fundraising through staff and customer initiatives raised £1,100 for Cancer Backup and Breast Cancer Research. The pool activities include deep water and shallow water aquafit sessions, with room for up to 40 and two instructors leading the sessions. Read

A LOCAL orchestra will be heard by a national audience tonight. Slaithwaite Philharmonic will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s Performance On 3 which features amateur orchestras.
