Girl, 16, raped outside church

A TEENAGE girl was raped in Huddersfield.

The 16-year-old has told police she was attacked on Saturday lunchtime in the grounds of St John’s Church on Osborne Road, Birkby.

She is being interviewed by specially-trained officers from West Yorkshire Police’s rape investigation unit.

The attack is said to have happened in the wooded area alongside the church.
