Rail strike could take place on Monday

PASSENGERS have been warned of major disruption as a rail strike looms.
Northern Rail drivers are due to take industrial action on Monday.
If the strike goes ahead, passengers in Slaithwaite and Marsden would have only one service to Huddersfield.
The company and the drivers’ union are in talks to avert the industrial action.
Northern Rail managing director Heidi Mottram said: “We are hopeful that we can reach agreement with our drivers’ representatives and that the strike will not take place. We are telling customers about the proposed strike action now so that they can make alternative arrangements in case the strike does go ahead and disrupts people’s travel plans.”
