Oct 15 2008 by Andrew Hirst, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
AN alleged terrorist accused of discussing a plot to blow up members of the British National Party today told a court he was only a “prankster” and that Osama bin Laden was “the craziest guy in the world.”
Waris Ali is accused of possessing a terrorism manual to research bomb-making techniques.
Ali, of Dearnley Street in Ravensthorpe, and co-defendant Dabeer Hussain, Clarkson Street, Ravensthorpe, are alleged to have discussed a plan to spy on and blow up members of the far right political group.
Ali denies three counts of possession of an article for a terrorist purpose and Hussain denies one count.
The Dewsbury school friends, both aged 18, are accused of researching bomb making techniques from internet “recipes” found on a terrorism manual called the Anarchists’ Cookbook.
