Mr Bell said: "He has had strong warnings and has continued to come onto the school grounds and be abusive to parents and staff in front of the children – after the Asbo warning this is the next step that the council can take.
"It’s a message that the education services and the schools wish to get across that this behaviour won’t be tolerated and the council will do something about it."
Ian Whiteley, defending, said that the incidents happened after his client went to the school to resolve a problem involving his son. He said: "He went legitimately to air his grievances with the teacher. He was getting no answer and the alleged conduct took place."
Magistrates heard that Edmund and his family lived at Huddersfield Road in Holmfirth, but have moved since the incidents at the school.
The children have not been back to the school, having applied to go to Bradley Junior and Infant School instead. They are now set to meet with the headteacher, whom magistrates heard is keen for the Asbo on Edmund to continue.
Magistrates agreed to the interim order pending a full application for an Asbo order and Edmund’s case was adjourned until November 6.
The order means that Edmund is prohibited from inciting or behaving in a manner likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in the Kirklees area. He is also banned from entering the grounds of Holmfirth Junior School.
Magistrates also warned Edmund that if his children register at Bradley School then steps could be taken to change the order to ban him from there.
