POLICE SWOOP ON CANNABIS FACTORY
ANOTHER cannabis factory has been found in Huddersfield.
Police acting on a tip-off raided a terraced, three-storey home on Almondbury Bank, Moldgreen, early yesterday morning.
They discovered 80 cannabis plants growing under a hydroponic set-up in the cellar.
The plants have an estimated street value of £24,000
Pc Dave Cant, of Huddersfield South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said someone had been sleeping at the house, but there was nobody there when they raided it.
He added: “It seems that someone had been there now and then. The investigation is continuing.’’
The hydroponic system set-up provided powerful heat and light to grow the plants. It had been illegally fixed up to the electricity meter. Electrical engineers were called in to dismantle it.
