Police then destroyed the system.

Most of the plants were dumped in a skip and taken away. A few plants were kept as evidence.

The find is the latest in a spate of cannabis factories discovered in the Huddersfield area. Finds ranged from Huddersfield – including the town centre – to Dewsbury, Denby Dale and Slaithwaite.

The biggest find was in a Fartown house last year; plants growing inside had an estimated street value of £300,000.

Almost all the raids have followed tip-offs to the police

Pc Cant said: “If anyone has information about any suspected cannabis factories – or any criminal activity – they can contact us directly.”
