‘Bring back bus’ protest set to fail

ANGRY villagers are to stage a protest against bus cuts, but it seems their plea will fall on deaf ears.

The First Bus 570 service in Rastrick was re-routed in January, leaving residents of Thornhill Road and Thornes Park without a bus.

Despite a meeting in July between Rastrick action groups and Metro representatives First refused to reinstate the service.

Now the Rastrick Bridge End Community Action Group is to hold a protest on Thornhill Road and Lillands Lane at 11am on Monday, October 27.

The group says vulnerable people have been left without an affordable means of travelling and shopping outside their neighbourhood.
