Pub tries out telly vest to entice punters

A TOWN centre bar has developed a novel new way to promote itself, sending staff out on to the streets wearing TV screens.

The Rock Cafe has bought two TV vests which have promotional videos loaded on to them.

Staff will walk the streets of Huddersfield wearing their unusual garments to advertise the bar’s offers and events.

The plastic vests are worn over clothing and have a 17in TV attached to the front, at a cost of £2,000 each.

They are thought to be the first used in Huddersfield, although TV vests have been worn in other towns as nightclub chain Luminar Leisure is using them across the nation.

The hi-tech invention is made in Taiwan and distributed in the UK by only one supplier, Harrogate-based TV Vests. They have only been made available to venues in the past few months.
