FAMILY TOUCH FOR PUPILS
Education writer HAZEL ETTIENNE visits a friendly village school where the children love learning
FAMILY values are at the heart of everything which happens at Linthwaite Ardron C of E Junior and Infant School.
This friendly church school has a growing roll and its 170 pupils are encouraged to forgive and love each other as they spend time with each other during the day.
Head teacher Eelin Megson said: “What we aim to do is encourage children to value being part of the community in which they live; we aim to give them the skills to become good future citizens.
“We want them to empathise with people, care about each other and care about the whole school community.’’
There has been a church school in Linthwaite since 1830 and the present modern building was built in 1985 following a donation from local man Gerald Ardron.
