Holme Valley sound is going worldwide
THE sound of the Holme Valley is the background to top musical shows around the world.
Trombones made at a Honley mill are played on stages globally, including Broadway and London’s glittering West End.
The Michael Rath Brass Musical Instruments business exports its trombones to some of the world’s top musicians.
And now their sounds will be heard by brass band lovers worldwide as it can be revealed that the International Staff Band of the Salvation Army, who play the Honley company’s instruments, have just signed a £1m recording contract.
The award-winning Black Dyke Mills Band also play Michael Rath instruments.
