Police say crime figures in West Yorkshire are down again

CRIME continues to fall in West Yorkshire, with 3,000 fewer victims in just one three-month period.
Overall, crime fell by 6% countrywide between April and June, compared with the same three months last year.
But the figures have led to a national controversy, with 13 of the 43 police forces in England and Wales admitting they may have recorded serious violent assaults as lesser charges.
These forces include North Yorkshire and Humberside, but not West Yorkshire.
It is believed that offences of grievous bodily harm with intent may have been under-reported for years.
