Detectives link three pub armed robberies

DETECTIVES are linking three terrifying armed robberies that happened less than two miles apart.

Senior officers believe the same raiders were responsible for the spate of raids on pubs and clubs in Calderdale.

The ambush of a publican’s wife in the car park of the Armytage Arms, Clifton, on Monday is being linked with raids at Thornhill Briggs Working Men’s Club, Old Lane, Brighouse, this month and one at the Black Horse Inn, Clifton, in May.

Det Insp Tony Nicholson said: “We are linking these three robberies. The circumstances are quite similar and they have happened in such close proximity.”
