Fire crews called to HRI in chemical scare
Nov 1 2008 by Andrew Hirst, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
FIRE crews were called to a chemical scare at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
Three drums of a strong sterile bleach called sodium hypochlorite had been delivered to the laundry, but one of the 200-litre drums was found to have expanded.
The drum was around 25% bigger than it should have been and staff could hear a hissing noise.
