Police to use head-camera to record yobs

POLICE will be wearing head cameras to tackle anti-social behaviour in the Holme Valley – and parents will be shown footage of their youngsters’ bad behaviour.
A head camera worth £1,100 has been bought for police to capture incidents of anti-social and criminal behaviour.
It is part of a series of measures costing £7,807 and aimed at cutting trouble throughout the Holme Valley.
Clr David Woodhead said: “It will allow them to record any incident of anti-social behaviour they see. Often they catch someone and take them home to their parents so the police can now see what their child was doing wrong and show them the evidence.
“We are lucky that we have relatively few incidents of anti-social behaviour, but this is about preventing it before it gets out of hand. Police have been trained to use the cameras, but they don’t have enough equipment so we decided to buy a head camera for officers to use in this area.”
