Family refuse to blame doctor after father’s death
Nov 5 2008 by Sam Casey, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
THE family of a man who died after being given a drug overdose said they did not blame the doctor responsible.
David Tesh, a house officer at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, admitted he made a mistake when he gave Arthur Pearson too much of the blood-thinning drug warfarin.
Mr Pearson, 83, died from a pulmonary embolism on June 17, four days after he was given the drug.
Dr Tesh had based the dosage on an out-of-date blood test.
A later test showed that Mr Pearson’s blood had thickened and he should not have been given as much.
But speaking after a Huddersfield inquest into Mr Pearson’s death his son, Andrew, said there was no bad feeling towards Dr Tesh.
