Vandals scare people from village shops

RESIDENTS are scared to visit village shops because of young vandals, says an MP.

Barry Sheerman toured Almondbury with police officers to see the extent of the problem.

The Huddersfield MP said: “There’s a very real anti-social behaviour problem involving young people in Almondbury.

“Sometimes there are as many as 20 young men hanging around with nothing to do.

“There’s a spectrum of disorder, from vandalism to serious criminality.
