POLICE investigating two armed robberies which happened just five hours apart have today put out images of the suspects caught on CCTV.

The raids in Brighouse and Elland on Tuesday are not thought to be linked, but detectives in Calderdale have been quick to put out the photographs from the shops’ surveillance systems.

The first happened at a newsagent on Elizabeth Street, Elland, just after 5am.

A balaclava-clad man went into the shop armed with a knife and what is believed to be an iron bar. He threatened the shopkeeper.

He escaped towards Saville Road with a small amount of cash and cigarettes.

The shopkeeper was not hurt.
