Murder probe starts

A MURDER inquiry was launched in West Yorkshire early today.

Police began investigations after an injured man, found at a house in Pontefract, died in hospital.

Emergency services had been called to Banks Avenue, Love Lane, shortly after midnight and found the badly-injured 33-year-old man.

He was taken to Pontefract General Infirmary, where he died from his injuries.

A post-mortem was being carried out today and a forensic examination of the scene is continuing.

Three people – two men aged 38 and 23 and a 14-year-old boy – were arrested early today at the house.

They are being held in custody.

The investigation is being carried out by the West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
