Early closing for bus station car park

A TOWN centre car park will introduce early closing times after vandals caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Kirklees Council is taking the drastic action to try and halt vandalism at Huddersfield Bus Station multi-storey car park.

The weekly vandalism attacks have been targeted at the lift in the bus station car park, which recently underwent a £100,000 upgrade.

The latest round of damage left the lift out of service and repair work took several days and cost thousands of pounds.

Attacks on the lift are so persistent that Kirklees Council highways bosses plan to introduce early closing at the car park from December 1.
