THOUSANDS of people are calling for the hunt for a hit-and-run driver to be featured on TV.
Friends of 18-year-old Adam O’Toole, who was killed in Salendine Nook last year, have collected 2,000 signatures for a petition demanding his case appears on BBC’s Crimewatch.
Adam’s friend Robert McGuin started the petition in January.
He said: “I felt I had to do something. It’s been 19 months since Adam died and there hasn’t been any new evidence since then. The case has come to a standstill.”
Adam, who was studying for a BTec diploma in sports studies, was knocked down at New Hey Road at 10.30am on March 6 last year.
He lived with his mother Beverley at Woodhead Road, Holmbridge.
