Youngsters’ concert for children’s charity
YOUNG performers have raised money for charity.
The Huddersfield branch of the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts put on a 15-minute show at Rastrick High School on Saturday.
The 34 young people, aged six to 17, had just two hours to prepare the sponsored show.
Organiser Joanne Storrs said: “We picked a theme out of a hat and the children had to put on the show. The theme was the circus, so we had clowns, can-can dancers and gymnasts.”
The children performed the show to 110 family and friends.
Joanne said: “It went absolutely fantastically. The children did very well and I’m really proud of them.”
All money raised through sponsorship and a cake sale at the event will go to Children in Need.
