Date announced for mum-in-stream funeral

THE funeral of a talented interior designer found dead in a stream will take place in Almondbury.

An inquest into the tragic death of 53-year-old Hilary Grater has opened and her body has been released to her grieving family.

The funeral will be at All Hallows Church in Almondbury at 10.30am on Friday, followed by cremation at Huddersfield Crematorium.

Donations in lieu of flowers will go to the Meningitis Trust.

Ms Grater died from drowning and the cause is not said to be suspicious.

An inquest opened at Bradford Coroner’s Court on Thursday and will be resumed at Huddersfield Coroners’ Court in a few months.

Ms Grater leaves two sons, Oliver, 27, and 29-year-old Gregory. Oliver’s son, Oscar, was born four months ago.
