Battle of the Bands

TALENTED young musicians from Huddersfield fought it out for the top spot in a Battle of the Bands.
Four bands played to a packed crowd of teenagers during the live night at the Brian Jackson Centre on New North Parade.
The contest was organised by the youth club of Huddersfield group Net Church, which meets at the centre.
It aims to give under-19s a chance to showcase their talents while also allowing the young people attending to have a safe, alcohol-free environment to enjoy the music.
The four Huddersfield bands that competed on the night were Killkrafter, Witness our Hands, Allies for Alibis and My Annihilation.
A panel of judges named pop-rock outfit Allies for Alibis the winners after they wowed the crowds with their version of Kings of Leon’s hit Sex on Fire.
Each year all the proceeds from the night are given to charities that the young musicians care about.
