CIRCUS performers, dancers and musicians took to the streets of Huddersfield for last night’s colourful Festival of Light.
Thousands of adults and children turned out for the show, and thousands more are expected to watch a re-run tonight.
But the event was met with disappointment by some families and revellers who braved the cold to watch the parade.
Many young children were unable to get a glimpse of the acts, while others felt squashed as the parade moved around the centre.
But people still have the chance to catch the show again tonight.

Clr Ken Sims, Kirklees Council Cabinet member for regeneration, said: “The Festival of Light is a wonderful event for Huddersfield.
“Every year it’s well enjoyed by thousands of local people as well as visitors to the town.
“It’s great that local people are also being given the chance to take part in the two performances.”
