A MOTHER has raised £1,000 to help people suffering kidney problems and now she aims to do even more for the charity.
Victoria Greaves, 39, of Hade Edge, near Holmfirth, raised the money for Kidney Research UK by completing the Great North Run in September.
She now plans to celebrate her 40th birthday with a big ball for the charity.
The half-marathon was Victoria’s second big run of the year; she raised £234 for the charity in the Manchester 10k Run in May.
It was meeting young kidney patients at that event which spurred her on to tackle the half- marathon.
She said: “I have three children and I’m fortunate they are in good health. Meeting those children in Manchester brought it all home to me.
“Kidney Research UK just seems like a great charity which does a lot for people of all ages.
“The reason behind the fundraising is that I’m 40 next year and I just feel that I want to give something back in life.”
