Huddersfield’s new casino shuts just weeks after opening

Sean Jarvis, Huddersfield Town’s director of business development, told the Examiner he has been told that Casino Red’s land-based casinos have suspended trading for 30 days to try and secure extra cash and investment after banks withdrew some of the company’s funding.

He said the casinored.com side of the business, which offers online gambling, has not been affected and that its sponsorship of Huddersfield Town will continue.

He said: “The sponsorship of Town will continue as normal by casinored.com and the logo on the team’s shirts will remain.

“The football club has vowed to support Casino Red as much as possible and however they can.

“We will be seeking a meeting with them to clarify and crystallise exactly where we’re at.”

Mr Jarvis added that the second season of sponsorship by the company has already been paid for in full, but a possible third season of sponsorship had yet to be discussed.

The Examiner has been unable to reach anyone at Casino Red for comment.
