CANCER charity supporters braved the cold to take part in a sponsored walk in memory of journalist Adrian Sudbury.
A three-mile sponsored ‘balloon walk’ was held at Huddersfield’s Greenhead Park yesterday in memory of Examiner reporter Adrian, who died in August after a two-year battle with leukaemia.
Walkers each carried a ‘Sign Up For Sudders’ balloon as they went round the park and made donations or raised sponsorship for the Sign Up For Sudders appeal.
This was set up in memory of 27-year-old Adrian to raise money for Leukaemia Research and the Anthony Nolan Trust, which runs a bone marrow register.
Adrian’s parents, Keith and Kay, took part in the walk, which aimed not only to raise cash but awareness of the Sign Up For Sudders campaign.
Adrian began his campaign in May after he was told his cancer was terminal. He wanted to make people aware of the need for more bone marrow donors .
